Dimmen Bandits' Maine man

May 31, 2007

St. Louis Bandits defenseman Jeff Dimmen has committed to the University of Maine (Hockey East).

Dimmen, a First Team All-NAHL selection in 2006-07, will report to Orono this fall.

"We couldn't be happier for Jeff," said Bandits coach-GM Jon Cooper.  "He's a tremendous player with a lot of skill and we're thrilled to see him get to compete in one of the best conferences in college hockey."

Dimmen, who started the season with the Alaska Avalanche, tallied 47 points in just 50 games during the regular season placing him second among NAHL defensemen in scoring.

His playoff performance was just as impressive, as he scored three goals and eight assists for 11 points to help lead the Bandits to the Robertson Cup national championship.
