Gabor leads Bruins to road win on Wednesday

Wichita Falls 4 @ Lone Star 0 – The Wildcats staked their claim to being the team to beat in the South as they went on the road and shutout the 2nd place Brahmas, 4-0. Justin Kapelmaster was perfect in goal for the Wildcats, making 27 saves as Wichita Falls handed Lone Star just their second regulation loss of the season. The Wildcats took the lead for good thanks to a 1st period goal from Jonathan Lazarus. Adam Goodsir and Ben Lown added 2nd period goals and Nikita Litviak scored in the 3rd period. Corbin Kaczperski took the loss in goal for the Brahmas, making 22 saves. Boxscore

Brookings 6 @ Bismarck 4 – Josh Kuehmichel made 46 saves and Mikael Hakkarainen had three points to lead the Blizzard to a 6-4 road win in Bismarck. Bismarck scored first on a goal from Alex Strand, but Brookings opened up a 4-1 lead midway through the contest thanks to goals from Brett Callahan, Nick Cardelli, TJ Samec and Nick Ford. Zach Mtchell and Hakkarainen added goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods, which turned out to be enough. Other Bobcats goals came from Willie Brown, Joe Tyran and Tobias Fladeby. Boxscore

Austin 4 @ Coulee Region 1 – In his first NAHL start, goalie Robbie Goor made 25 saves to lead to Austin Bruins to a 4-1 road win in Coulee Region on Wednesday. The teams were even at 1-1 after the 1st period thanks to goals from Austin Rueschhoff for the Bruins and Michael Wilson for the Chill. The Bruins broke the game wide open in the 2nd period with three goals, including two from Gilbert Gabor and another from Evan Cholak. Chill goalie Hunter Vorva was saddled with the loss, making 19 saves. Boxscore

Aberdeen 3 @ Minot 4 – Minot opened up a 3-0 lead and never looked back in a 4-3 home win over the visiting Wings. Johnny Walker opened the scoring in the 1st period and Nate Pionk and Jack Murphy added 2nd period goals to make it 3-0 in favor of Minot early in the 2nd period. The Wings tried to get back into the game with two goals later in the 2nd period from Carter Roo and Ryan Cook. The eventual game-winner came off the stick of Chase Springman, who scored on the power play early in the 3rd period. The other goal for Aberdeen was from Gavin Payne. Jon Flake made 22 saves in the win, while Peter Thome made 36 saves in the loss. Boxscore

MN Magicians 2 @ MN Wilderness 6 – The Wilderness got goals from six different players and three assists from Tyler Cline in a 6-2 home win over the Magicians. It was all Wilderness from the drop of the puck as they opened up a 5-0 lead, which included 1st period goals from Tristian Rostagno and Kobe Roth and 2nd period goals from Koby Bender, Jack Forbort and Connor Bucsis. The Magicians finally broke through in the 3rd period courtesy of goals from Larry Jungwirth and Joe Nathe. Janis Jaks had the lone 3rd period goal for the Wilderness. Luke Kania picked up the win in goal, making 23 saves. Boxscore
