Ice Dogs back in 1st place with win on Tuesday

Fairbanks 6 @ Johnstown 3 - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs scored three in the third period to take the 6-3 victory on Tuesday night against the Johnstown Tomahawks. Cam Bleck opened the scoring for the Tomahawks, taking a pass from Zach Zech between the circles, and firing a shot over the shoulders of Fairbanks goaltender Patrick Munson at 6:37 of the first period. Adam Wilcox got Fairbanks on the board with 4:18 remaining in the first, sliding the puck between the left skate of Tomahawks goaltender Ryan Bednard and the post. Yannick Vedel earned the assist on the goal. Andrew Romano regained the lead for the Tomahawks, retrieving the deflection from Filips Bundis and slipping it inside the right post with 1:23 remaining in the first period. Fairbanks’ Adam Anderson tied the game at two, taking a pass from Caleb Schroer and scoring 4:01 into the second period. Just 75 seconds later, Casey Linkenheld broke the 2-2 tie, scoring his eighth goal of the season. Joe Drabin added an assist on the goal. Fairbanks took advantage of a breakaway opportunity, as Adam Anderson took a long pass from Hans Gorowsky, connecting for his second goal of the game with 5:45 rem-aining in the period. The Ice Dogs picked up two goals early in the third period, starting with Jacob Hetz scoring at 14:38. Less than a minute later, Schroer scored to make it a 5-3 game. Michigan 1 @ Janesville 6 – The Jets widened their 1st place lead in the North Division with a convincing 6-1 win over the visiting Michigan Warriors on Tuesday. Evan Feno paced the Jets offense with a four-point night. Janesville took a 2-0 lead in the opening six minutes of the game, which included goals from Grant Hutton and Feno. Michigan struck for their only goal midway through the period on a tally from Garrison Sanipass, but it would be all that the Jets would allow. Brandon Schultz scored to make it 3-1 after one period. Drew Callin returned from injury to score the only goal of the 2nd period and Zach Lavalle and Alex Smith added 3rd period goals. All four goalies played in the game with Matt Jurusik making seven saves for the Jets before Blake Weyrick took over stopping all 19 shots that came his way. Ryan Wischow took the loss for Michigan, making 8 saves and then Chase Munroe made 19 saves in his Warriors debut. Boxscore
 
Kenai River 2 @ Keystone 5 – Brendan Jaquay scored twice to lead the Keystone Ice Miners to a 5-2 home win on Tuesday night over the Kenai River Brown Bears. The Ice Miners got off to a fast start, scoring three times in the 1st period. Jaquay, Kennan Sabatini and AJ Coleman all lit the lamp for Keystone. The lead swelled to 4-0 in the 2nd period as Jaquay scored his second goal of the game. The Brown Bears got on the board late in the period with a goal from Maurin Bouvet. The Ice Miners lead went back to four on a 3rd period goal from Robert Jaworski, who scored his first NAHL goal. Alex Jackstadt rounded out the scoring with a late 3rd period goal for the Brown Bears. Nick Kossoff picked up the win in goal, making 29 saves, while Alec Derks took the loss making 27 saves.
