Wilderness win battle of Minnesota on Wednesday

Amarillo 1 @ Lone Star 6 – The Brahmas stayed red-hot and won their 10th straight game as they handled the Bulls on Wednesday, 6-1 behind two goals from Pat Egan. Egan scored the lone goal of the 1st period. The Brahmas would add three more in the 2nd period including another from Egan and others from Oskar Andren and Ludvig Larsson. AJ Duggan scored the lone Bulls goal early in the 3rd period, but Lone Star managed to tack on two more goals before the final horn as Quinn Carroll and AJ Vanderbeck scored. TJ Black made 16 saves in the win. Boxscore

Janesville 6 @ Austin 3 – The Jets exploded for four goals in the 3rd period to erase a 3-2 Austin lead and win, 6-3. Tony Uglem gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a 1st period goal. The Jets responded with two goals in the 2nd period to take a lead with tallies from Evan Feno and Brandon Schultz. Austin regained the lead early in the 3rd period with goals from JC Maclean and Ian Scheid, but the Jets would respond with four straight including another from Feno, one from Zach Yoder and the final two from Adam Winborg. Jared Rutledge picked up the win, making 21 saves. Boxscore

MN Magicians 2 @ MN Wilderness 5 – The Wilderness scored the final three goals of the game as they handed the Magicians their seventh straight loss in a 5-2 win on Wednesday. Michael Covach and Ivan Chukarov gave the Wilderness a 2-0 lead in the 1st period. The Magicians answered in the 2nd period to tie the game at 2-2 as Nathan Krusko and Kane Durment lit the lamp, but it was all Wilderness after that point. Billy Exell scored the go-ahead and game-winning goal late in the 2nd period and Darian Romanko added two 3rd period goals. Ryan Anderson made 23 saves in the win. Boxscore

Minot 3 @ Aberdeen 2 (OT) – The MInotauros increased their Central Division lead with a 3-2 overtime win in Aberdeen on Wednesday. After a scoreless 1st period, Christian Mohs and Luke Davison scored for Minot to put the Minotauros ahead 2-0 midway through the 2nd period. It would take almost the entire 3rd period for the Wings to get the equalizer, but Tucker DeYoung scored with under three minutes remaining to tie the game and send it to overtime. With just :32 seconds remaining in the extra frame, Casey Johnson got a feed in the low slot and beat Wings goalie Andrew Shortridge for the overtime-winner. Atte Tolvanen made 23 saves in the win, while Shortridge made 38 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Bismarck 3 @ Brookings 2 (SO) – Evan Giesler scored the shootout winner and Alex Bitsakis made 31 saves as the Bobcats picked up a 3-2 road win in Brookings in a shootout on Wednesday.  In a very evenly played game, it was the Blizzard who jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period on goals from Joe Anderson and Mike Sauer. The Bobcats would respond with two goals to tie the game as Tanner Salsberry scored late in the 2nd period and Cody Longie added a 3rd period goal. In the shootout, Bitsakis stopped five of six shooters, while Logan Rivard and Giesler scored for Bismarck. Boxscore
