Wild's Jaeger named Goalie of the Month

November 5, 2009

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today that Wenatchee Wild goaltender Brandon Jaeger has been named the Goaltender of the Month for September/October.

In 10 appearances, Jaeger, a 19-year-old from Champlin, Minn., fashioned a perfect 8-0 record, including a 28-save shutout performance in Kenai River on Oct. 13, to compliment a league-best 1.71 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.

“Brandon has proven to his teammates that he’s an elite goaltender who has met and exceeded every challenge presented to him thus far,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter.  “He’ll be a high-level Division I goaltender in the very near future.”

Last season, Jaeger helped Russell Stover’s Midget Major (U18) team to an appearance in the USA Hockey National Championships.

"I'm honored to be named Goaltender of the Month, especially considering how many quality goaltenders play in this league,” said Jaeger.  “The award just shows how much consistent help I’ve received from my teammates playing in front of me."
