Johnstown begins search for new head coach

April 29, 2014
The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today that the contract for head coach Jason Spence will not be renewed for the 2014-15 season.

Spence coached the team to a combined record of 55-48-17 in the Tomahawks' first two seasons, with a 1-5 record in the NAHL playoffs.

"Jason has brought tremendous passion and dedication to the Tomahawks organization over the last two years," General Manager Rick Boyd said. "However, we feel that this decision -- as difficult as it was -- is ultimately the best course of action for our team moving forward."

The Tomahawks will immediately begin searching for candidates to fill the head coaching position. Assistant Coach and Director of Scouting Mike Letizia will assume head coaching duties in the interim.
