Gongshow Flow of the Month winners announced

March 1, 2012

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced its Gongshow Flow of the Month winners for the month of February.  This month the NAHL honored player David Ripple from the NAHL’s Coulee Region Chill and fans Jonathan Appell and Larry “The Saturday Night Special” McFall.

Ripple’s flow has taken months to grow, but judging by its ‘full-bodyness’ and feathered glory, it is definitely one of the best player flows in the NAHL.  Ripple, a forward, is in his second year with the Chill and was selected to the 2012 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament as a part of team Midwest.  Unfortunately, an injury sustained the game before the tournament sidelined Ripple and he was unable to participate in the event.  Ripple is currently tied for the top spot in points for the Chill with 28 this season.  The native of Winter Springs, Florida hopes to move onto play NCAA Division I hockey next season.

February’s fan award goes to two people.  The first is Jonathan Appell.  Jonathan is from Murphy, Texas and is a defenseman on the Texas Tornado 18U team of the PHL.  As you can see, his hair has worked up some serious flow, especially in the back.  When he has a hat on, like in his enclosed picture, he truly resembles a hockey player who is late season form.  Jonathan hopes he and his flow continue onto the junior A level one day soon.

This month’s second fan award was simply too good to pass up or ignore.  It belongs to Larry “The Saturday Night Special” McFall.  He is the announcer for the NAHL’s Minot Minotauros and judging by his hair, he may be the odds on favorite for flow of the year.  Not only does he have a sweet hockey mullet going on with the familiar ‘business in the front, party in the back’ look, but it is also a nice blonde/red/gold color, making him impossible to miss when he has the microphone in hand.

Gongshow is the exclusive sponsor of the Flow of the Month promotion on the NAHL and Gongshow Twitter sites @NAHLHockey and @GONGSHOWGEAR.  Fans and players alike are encouraged to submit photos of their best ‘hockey hair’ or ‘flow’ via Twitter and at the each of every month during the regular season, one fan and one player winner will be recognized on NAHL.com.

The NAHL is now accepting nominations for Flow of the Month for March.  March is the final month before NAHL playoffs and everyone knows that after 6-7 months of growth, there is NOTHING better than playoff flow.

Gongshow Gear Inc. (Gongshow) is the Official Lifestyle Hockey Apparel of the NAHL.  Gongshow is also the sponsor of the NAHL TV platform on the new NAHL website.  In addition, Gongshow will be the title partner of the NAHL Lifestyle Player of the Year for Community Service Award given away at the end of the season to the NAHL player who best represents himself within his community combined with a positive lifestyle.
