Chippewa forward Platter makes NCAA DI commitment
The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Peyton Platter has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Platter, 19, just completed his first full season playing in the NAHL. The 6’1/181 lbs. native of Eau Claire, WI, appeared in 59 games during the 2022-23 regular season and recorded 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists), which ranked 5th on the team in scoring. He also appeared in three Robertson Cup Playoff games, recording one point.
“Extremely excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for all the help and support along the way,” said Platter on social media.
Platter made his NAHL debut with the Steel during the 2021-22 season, appearing in three games.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Platter played for both Team Wisconsin and Eau Claire Memorial High.
